Police Release Photos Of Alleged Walnut Creek Wallet Thieves

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) – Police in Walnut Creek are looking for two women allegedly responsible for several wallet thefts at downtown restaurants over the summer.

The woman, Crystal Pratt, 32, of Oakland, and Eva Coleman, 47, from Fairfield or Oxnard, are accused of taking wallets from customers at three different restaurants in Walnut Creek in late July and early August, according to police spokesman Lt. Lanny Edwards.

They are also wanted for similar crimes in other cities in Contra Costa, Alameda and Santa Clara counties, Edwards said.

In August, Walnut Creek police released video surveillance footage of the suspects and several people called in with information about the pair, helping officers learn their names and leading them to Pratt's home, police said.

A probation search of Pratt's residence earlier this month turned up stolen credit cards, according to police.

Still, the two have eluded investigators, who are turning to the public once again to seek assistance in locating the women.

Pratt is wanted on a $285,000 warrant for six counts of burglary, three counts of identity theft and four counts of credit card fraud. Coleman is wanted on a $195,000 warrant for four counts of burglary, two counts of identity theft and three counts of credit card fraud, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Walnut Creek police at (925) 935-6400 or, if the women are spotted in another city, to contact the local police in the area where they've been seen.
