New Sexual Abuse Of Minors Charges Filed Against Healdsburg Youth Mentor

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Four additional charges of sexual abuse of minors were filed in Sonoma County Superior Court Thursday morning against a former employee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley.

Paul Dwayne Kilgore, 68, of Sonoma, is charged with seven felony counts of sexual abuse and committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.

Kilgore initially was charged in September with two counts of continuous abuse of two boys 11 and 12 at the Parkpoint Health Club in Healdsburg in August.

A third count in that alleged incident was added Thursday morning, and three more counts involving a third underage victim were also added to the complaint, Deputy District Attorney Javier Vaca said.

The alleged sexual abuse occurred between 2010 and 2016, and Vaca would not say where it allegedly occurred. Information about the third alleged victim surfaced during the initial investigation, Vaca said.

Kilgore postponed entering a plea to the entire complaint until Nov. 3. He faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted of the charges, according to Vaca.

Kilgore resigned three years ago from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley president Robert Hughes said.

Healdsburg police said Kilgore took young pre-teens and teen boys on outings to local recreation areas in Healdsburg, and the lewd acts occurred during some overnight trips where Kilgore served as a mentor.

Kilgore is being held in Sonoma County Jail under $1 million bail.
