Stabbing At UN Plaza Leaves Man With Life-Threatening Injuries

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A man in his 20s suffered life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed in San Francisco's United Nations Plaza Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Around 4:30 p.m. a San Francisco resident in his 50s was yelling in the plaza when he got into some kind of an altercation with the victim, who is also a San Francisco resident, police said.

The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times. Both men were transported to a hospital.

The suspect suffered a wound to his hand that investigators believe was caused by his own knife.

Police said he would be booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder after being medically cleared.
