Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Shooting At San Jose Business Park

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A man suffered life-threatening injuries after a shooting early Saturday morning near a San Jose business park, according to police.

Around 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1400 block of Koll Circle, police said.

Upon arrival, offices learned a man had been taken to a hospital after being shot, with two suspected shooters already gone.

Nearly two dozen evidence markers paint a picture of the attack which took place just steps outside the shop where Darnell Bradford is supervisor.

"I hope that they can get to the bottom of it and it won't happen again," he said.

Other tenants here wonder what was happening after hours.

Bradford told KPIX that neighborhood business owners have noticed unusual activity at one of the units which suggested that an underground nightclub was operating.

"You know, like seven, eight people hanging out in the parking lot ... at 2 or 3 in the morning," Bradford said.

By sunrise, the crowds would be long gone.

Now shop owners and employees on Koll Circle are wondering what type of business their neighbor was running.

"As a tenant here -- as a working business -- I wouldn't want establishments to come in and throw after-hour parties and events when we're not here because we don't know what goes on," he added.

The shooting victim's identity has not been released but he is expected to survive. As for the suspects, they were last seen leaving the area with several people in a blue or green minivan.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the police department's anonymous Crime Stoppers line at (408) 947-7867.
