Fairfield Police Detain 6 Teens In Car, Arrest 2 Who Were Armed, Masked

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Two Solano County teenagers were arrested in Fairfield on Saturday afternoon after police received several reports of people wearing masks and carrying guns in a residential neighborhood.

After receiving the calls at around 3 p.m., police responded to Ellington Place and Meadowlark Drive and found six teenagers in a car.

As the officers approached the vehicle, they saw two of the teens getting out of the car with their faces covered, police said.

The officers ordered the teens back into the car, detained all six juveniles and searched the vehicle, turning up two loaded guns, according to police.

All six teens, ranging from age 15 to 17, were taken to the police station. Four of them were released to their parents or guardians.

A 15-year-old from Dixon and a 17-year-old Vacaville boy were booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of several firearms offenses.

The Vacaville boy was also booked on suspicion of violating his probation, police said.

"This is a great example of the community and police working together," Fairfield police Lt. Jausiah Jacobsen said in a statement.

"The swift actions of citizens who called in, coupled with the quick response of the patrol officers probably prevented a violent crime from being committed," Jacobsen said.
