Golden Gate Transit Holiday Bus Collecting Toys For Tots Through Dec. 17

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Golden Gate Transit's decorative holiday bus will be collecting toys for children in Petaluma and San Rafael this Thanksgiving weekend.

The bus will participate at San Rafael's Parade of Lights 5:30 p.m. Friday and in downtown Petaluma at 11 a.m. Saturday for the noon arrival by tugboat of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The eye-catching bus with snowflakes, colorful ribbons, twinkling stars and a Golden Gate Bridge snow globe is collecting toys for less fortunate children through Dec. 17 throughout Golden Gate Transit's San Francisco and Marin and Sonoma counties service area.

Golden Gate Transit is teaming up with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in this year's "Stuff the Bus" to collect new, unwrapped and donated toys.

The toy donations cannot be made while the bus is in service because drivers do not have room to store them.

The bus will be at seven more locations including Santa Rosa, Novato, Sausalito, Larkspur, San Francisco and San Rafael after the Thanksgiving weekend.
