Matt Holliday's No Trade Clause Lists Just The A's

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – It seems like there is a lot of lingering hostility within slugger Matt Holliday over the few months he spent with the Oakland A's.

Holliday was acquired by the A's in a blockbuster trade with the Colorado Rockies in 2008 for Carlos Gonzalez, closer Huston Street and Greg Smith.

He hit .286 in 93 games and was eventually dealt to the St. Louis Cardinals where he caught fire again hitting .353 in the final 63 games of the season.

So this year as a free agent when he reached an agreement on a one-year, $13 million with the New York Yankees it carried with a no-trade clause.

While such clauses are not unusual – this one listed just one team.

The Oakland A's.
