Small Plane Heading For Petaluma Goes Missing In The Sierra Mountains

TRUCKEE (CBS SF) -- A small plane went missing after it took off from the Tahoe-Truckee Airport heading for Petaluma on Monday.

The single-engine plane left Truckee just before 4 p.m. on Monday bound for the Petaluma Municipal Airport, but it never arrived.

The Civil Air Patrol and the California Highway Patrol were searching for the plane in the Sierra Mountains on Tuesday.

However, poor weather conditions in the mountains has hampered their search.
