New Year's Eve is just around the corner and if you're hosting a holiday party, now is the time to start planning. But this year, instead of preparing your own food dishes or having a potluck, why not just save time by using a reliable catering service for the best NYE party ever? While your favorite San Francisco restaurants might not offer any catering service, you might be surprised of how many popular establishments are taking orders for some of the finest gourmet meals in town. Here is just a preview of five of the very best San Francisco restaurants to contact for your upcoming New Year's Eve party.

Ebisu

Located in the Sunset District just south of Golden Gate Park, Ebisu prides itself as being one of the city's best sushi restaurants in San Francisco. Owners Steve and Koko Fujii has operated their family-owned business for more than 30 years and also offers both online orders for pick up and catering services. For special orders, hot items or on-site ordering, customers are asked to contact Steve between 2-4 p.m. on weekdays and all orders must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Well known for providing outstanding service and Japanese cuisine, Ebisu features a number of notable dishes, such as Kobe beef sashimi, seafood tempura and salmon teriyaki, and specialty sushi rolls like the 49er roll, Family Affair and the XXX Roll or Chef's Special.

La Mediteranée

Consistently voted the Best Middle Eastern and Best Mediterranean restaurant in the Bay Area, La Mediteranée is celebrating its 38th year. Led by owner Levon Der Bodrossian, the family-owned and operated restaurant specializes in extraordinary Mid-East and Mediterranean cuisine, with a particular emphasis on Armenian and Lebanese family recipes. Ever since its opening in 1979, La Mediteranée has been catering parties, weddings and other special events and offers delivery, pick up or full service catering. All orders should be made at least 24-48 hours in advance to guarantee preferred delivery times although some same day orders may be accommodated. Among the superb offerings from the catering menu are party platters with treats like chicken cilicia and Levant sandwiches, an array of appetizers, sandwiches and hot entrees, as well as a prix fixe menu, with vegan and vegetarian options. La Mediteranée operates two other restaurants in San Francisco, on Noe Street and on Powell Street.

An offshoot of the more upscale Nopa in Alamo Square, Nopalito has two San Francisco locations and offers full service catering for delivery or pick up. Much like its highly praised restaurant led by Chef Laurence Jossel, Nopalito offers organic Mexican cuisine with locally sourced seasonal ingredients and includes such delicious items like tortitas de chorizo, tacos de carnitas, torta de pollo adovada and main entrees like carne asada, frijoles puercos con huevo and birria de pollo.
