The question over whether or not BART should have shut down cell phone reception is not one I believe we even need to raise. BART was trying to deny people their first admendment rights. Simple as that. @connie: who exactly are “the thugs that they are defending!” Most of Anonymous fights for freedom of speech and human rights, but the fact is, because of Anonymous’ nature, people like you can mistakenly believe that Anonymous as a whole fights for those people. The one thing that Anonymous as a whole fights for is nothing. Every group has good and bad people in it. Simple as that. The people who protested here were good; they followed the law, and they spoke out against something the felt was wrong. Unless you have a reason to hate the First Amendment, which in that case I wouldn’t consider you a true American, I do not think you should be trolling against what Anonymous did.

I think it’s wonderful they peacefully protested against BART for infringing on people’s First Amendment rights. Everyone should be protesting this, not just Anonymous. Americans should fight tooth and nail when their First Amendment rights are being stepped on. That is the basis of what our great country was founded upon. You take those rights away and we may as well be part of the cold-war Soviet Union. Well done for doing it peacefully, Anonymous!

We need to not forget the BIG picture here. The Bart police are getting away with murder. There starting to use the cell phone shut off as a cover up in hopes people will forget why these protests started in the first place.

When law enforcement deny a American fudemental right of freedom of speach it is down right scary. This has to be protested and made right . I just hope the people of the bay area take a deep breath relax the mind like some hippie in Golden Gate Park and really take a look at this for what it is. UNACCEPTABLE !
