8th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration
SAN FRANCISCO - MAY 19: Back and bigger than ever, the 8th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration was held Saturday, May 19, 2012 in San Francisco, in front of the Asian Art Museum, leading up to the Little Saigon District.
The largest gathering of Asian Pacific Americans showcased the return of the Arts & Crafts World Market, an extravaganza of special and unique hand-made products and artworks. The fair, produced by the AsianWeek Foundation, featured a scrumptious collection of pan Asian delights and sweets, along with the Bay Area’s favorite food trucks. New this year, a cooking demo by none other than, celebrity chef, Martin Yan!
Popular returning features for people of all ages included the j-cars, wine area, children’s area, Muay Thai Kickboxing, a healthy living pavilion, a cultural procession, free film screenings, along with performances by Asian American artists, DJs, and martial arts experts. The fair also offered free hepatitis B screenings.
