Three people were killed in a pulled-over car that was struck by a passing vehicle on northbound Interstate 280 in unincorporated San Mateo County near Redwood City Friday afternoon.
San Francisco police Tuesday clarified that what was initially reported as a shooting on Interstate Highway 280 over the weekend was actually a stabbing that occurred elsewhere in the city.
The shooting was reported at 5:43 a.m. Sunday by the 31-year-old victim, who drove to a hospital and told staff he had been shot on northbound Highway 280 near the Sixth Street exit, according to police.
Two lanes of southbound Interstate Highway 280 in Cupertino were closed Tuesday afternoon because of a fatal big-rig crash that occurred late Tuesday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
A man who died in a crash off of Interstate Highway 280 in Woodside early Monday morning has been identified as 30-year-old Steven Shalendra Raj, according to the San Mateo County coroner’s office.
