Key NFL Draft Picks To Fill AFC West Offensive, Defensive Holes
The 2013 NFL Draft will take place this week, so let’s take a look at which holes each team in the AFC West needs to fill to have a successful draft.
It’s Official: Terrelle Pryor Makes His First Career Start Against The Chargers
After almost a week of waiting, head coach Dennis Allen makes it official by naming Terrelle Pryor as his starting quarterback in Sunday’s finale at San Diego. Pryor hasn’t started a game since he won the 2011 Sugar Bowl while at Ohio State. Cornerback Philip Adams is on injured reserve with a groin injury and has been replaced by Brandian Ross.
Disappointing Chargers Team Hopes to End Season on Positive Note
The 6-9 Chargers have failed to make the playoffs for a third straight year. Head coach Norv Turner will likely not return for the 2013 campaign. San Diego is led by quarterback Philip Rivers, running back Ryan Mathews, receiver Malcom Floyd, and tight end Antonio Gates.
Raiders Finally End The Losing Streak
Six straight losses was enough for the Raiders, who finally are back in the win column. Oakland improved to 4-10 and ensured they will not have the top draft pick in 2013. More importantly, the Raiders are looking for some consistency with two games remaining.
A Win For The Rival Chiefs Benefits Raiders
Although the Chiefs are 2-10, the Raiders will be rooting for their rivals to beat the Cleveland Browns. The more wins the Raiders have, the lower their first round draft pick will be.
Raiders Downward Spiral Continues
It’s been a tough week for the Oakland Raiders. They’ve lost two games in four days. Head coach Dennis Allen left the team to be with his father who died from a heart attack. The team has suffered six straight losses with no end in sight.
Broncos Stampede Into Oakland Riding A Seven-Game Win Streak
The Denver Broncos are the 2012 AFC West Champions and have won seven in a row. Led by future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, the team is playoff bound and a few more wins will ensure the team of a first round bye. It’ll be a huge challenge for the Raiders to try to win this game.
Raiders Without McFadden, Goodson, and Seymour for second straight game
The Raiders continue to have many key players on the injured list. Once again they’ll be without running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson. The Saints have few injuries and with a nearly full roster, they’ll be a tough challenge for the Silver and Black
Injury-Riddled Raiders Will Make Sunday’s Game A Shootout
With high powered passing offenses and poor defenses, Sunday’s game between the Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints could be very interesting. More injuries mean that an already limited roster will make things even more difficult for the Silver and Black.
Raiders Soul Searching After Latest Blowout Loss
The Oakland Raiders are looking at themselves in the mirror and trying to take accountability for their many shortcomings both offensively and defensively. The person who has to take some of the responsibility is head coach Dennis Allen.
