Modern-Day Amelia Earhart Lands In Bay Area, Completes Namesake’s Around-The-World Journey

More than 77 years after Amelia Earhart attempted to fly around the world, a woman named after the aviation legend completed her own round-the-world flight by landing at Oakland International Airport Friday afternoon.

Modern Day Amelia Earhart To Trace Namesake’s Planned Flight Path

A woman who carries the same name as the most famous female aviator is paying tribute to the original Amelia Earhart by circling the globe after departing from Oakland Thursday.
