Death Of BART Workers Casts Pall Over Strike; Union May Reject Latest Offer

The tragic death of 2 workers cast a pall over the BART strike Saturday as both sides expressed their grief and condolences. Both sides refused to discuss negotiations or the strike, saying their focus for now is on the workers.

BART Unions Issue 72-Hour Notice For Monday Strike

SEIU Local 1021, ATU 1555, and AFSCME issued a statement Thursday at 7 p.m. officially notifying BART that workers may resume their strike on Sunday at midnight.

As 2nd BART Strike Looms, KPIX 5 Poll Finds Many Side With BART Management

With BART unions set to go on strike for a second time if they don’t reach agreement on a new contract by Sunday night, a newly-released KPIX 5 poll finds the public, by a margin of over 2-to-1, thinks BART management has made a better case than have the unions.
