San Francisco police have arrested an Oakland man in connection with the brutal robbery and assault that was caught on tape during gay pride weekend.
A 22-year-old victim was walking with a group of people just after 8:30 p.m. when he got into a fight with another man between the science building and the library. After a struggle on the lawn, the victim ended up having his head slammed repeatedly against the sidewalk. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Giants have been active in raising money for Bryan Stow’s mounting medical bills and to otherwise keep him in the public consciousness. Giants third-base coach Tim Flannery, who’s also a musician, has used his band, The Lunatic Fringe, to benefit Stow’s cause. Obviously, the cause is important to Flannery, and the topic is understandbly a sensitive one.
