Yosemite To Keep Half Dome Cables, Continue Permit Limits

Climbing Yosemite’s Half Dome is one of the national park system’s most iconic hikes in the nationwide system, but on Friday officials announced approval of a plan that permanently limits how many can do it.

Cable Installation Begins On Bay Bridge Eastern Span

The Self Anchored Suspension Span is the signature element of the new section of the bridge. Crews will be pulling 137 strands that will make up the main cable. Caltrans spokesman Bart Ney explained the process as the first cable came off the line.
