Evacuation orders and advisories were lifted Tuesday for several Sierra Nevada communities once threatened by a raging wildfire in and around Yosemite National Park.
The “Walker” and “Wye” fires have burned 7,934 acres since they started around 4 p.m. Sunday. Full containment is expected by Monday.
The Forest Service says a fire burning outside of Yosemite National Park is now 50-percent contained after officials brought in more manpower to fight the blaze.
