Bay Area protesters marched in lockstep with hundreds of thousands of people across the country who came out in the streets to denounce the police killings of unarmed black men Michael Brown and Eric Garner.

Protesters that vandalized businesses in downtown Oakland Saturday night in a demonstration over Saturday’s verdict in the George Zimmerman trial “dishonored the memory” of the boy Zimmerman killed, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan said Sunday.
