Giants Lefty Affeldt Goes On DL With Groin Strain

San Francisco Giants lefty reliever Jeremy Affeldt will be sidelined up to six weeks after he strained his left groin Saturday, feeling and hearing a pop on a pitch against Arizona.

Sandoval Headed For Surgery, DL With Broken Wrist

Third baseman Pablo Sandoval has fractured the hamate bone in his left wrist, the team announced Thursday. He will undergo surgery Friday, Giants manager Bruce Bochy told the Giants beat writers. Sandoval is expected to miss four to six weeks.
