Highway 101 in Burlingame was closed in both directions until about 4:30 p.m. Saturday for emergency repairs causing a traffic nightmare. Now it’s slated for closure again on Sunday.
The CHP reopened all southbound lanes and three lanes of northbound 101 in Burlingame Saturday afternoon following a lengthy closure due to downed power lines.
Downed power lines have caused a complete closure of a section Highway 280 in Cupertino Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The highway was completely shut down for about an hour beginning around 11 a.m. when an excavation crew knocked down a power pole on Hembree Lane parallel to the highway, causing power and phone lines to droop across lanes of traffic.
The California Highway Patrol has closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 4 in Hercules Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle struck a telephone pole causing live wires to fall across the lanes and stop traffic.
