Bay Area Wind Farm Exempted From Prosecution If Eagles Die From Turning Blades

A California wind farm will become the first in the nation to avoid prosecution if eagles are injured or die when they run into the giant turning blades, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Thursday.

A bald eagle that recently hatched at Anthony Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley is expected to by flying by July, according to the East Bay Regional Park District.

Injured Eagle Found In San Jose Park Rescued

An injured golden eagle found in San Jose’s Almaden Quicksilver Park was rescued by two volunteers from the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday and was recovering at the facility.
