San Francisco Supervisors Propose Ban On Wild & Exotic Animals For Entertainment Purposes

A group of San Francisco supervisors has proposed a ban on wild and exotic animals for entertainment purposes. The ban would apply to movie shoots, circus acts and street performers, although domesticated horses are exempt.

Ringling Bros. Circus To End Elephant Acts By 2018

The circus’ parent company, Feld Entertainment, said the acts will be phased out by 2018, citing growing public concern about the animals’ treatment.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom employees were sad to say goodbye to their beloved Asian elephant, Taj, who died on Monday at age 71, making her the oldest elephant in a North American facility at the time of her death, according to the park.
