Santa Cruz police are investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found in a residential area about two blocks north of Seabright State Beach Tuesday morning.
Searchers in Nevada County looking for a missing gold miner from San Jose have found the body of man about 1,500 feet away from the miner’s truck in a remote area near the South Yuba River, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
Ara Ghorgyi Ward, 48, was last seen the evening of June 12 with her boyfriend when they were at Montara State Beach, according to sheriff’s officials.
Police were called to the 1000 block of 81st Avenue around 7:40 p.m. where the body was found in the garbage, Oakland police Officer Kevin McDonald said.
The body was reported at 7:26 a.m. face-down in the water near Great Highway and Judah Street, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.
Ryan Menjivar, a senior at Martinez’s Alhambra High School, was reported missing on Feb. 26 after he left his home in the middle of the night and didn’t return. He was last seen at the home around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.
