Rookie Jonathan Villar scored the winning run from second base in the ninth inning when catcher Derek Norris had a passed ball and then made a bad throw on the same play to give the Houston Astros a 5-4 win over the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.

Josh Reddick put Oakland on top with a two-run homer in the eighth inning and the Athletics remained perfect this season against the Houston Astros with a 4-3 victory Monday night.

A’s Balfour Helps Shut Out National League In All-Star Game

The AL’s 3-0 victory at Citi Field on Tuesday night was an arms showcase. It was just the third shutout for the AL, following 1946 at Boston’s Fenway Park and 1990 at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
