San Francisco’s Health Commission has voted to cover sex reassignment surgery for transgender people through the city’s universal health program.
A former employee of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission was charged with multiple felony counts of possessing and distributing child pornography, District Attorney George Gascon said.
The ad was plastered on San Francisco city buses in recent weeks, prompting some artists to deface the ads and remove some of the words, including “Jihad,” or holy war.
San Francisco’s Municipal Railway said it won’t be removing controversial ads from Muni buses because of the potential costs of removing them, but will instead give the ad’s revenue to the Human Rights Commission.
A resolution before the Board of Supervisors would establish a formal city policy opposing racial profiling of Muslim, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim and South Asian communities by law enforcement.
