For the second time this week, independent truckers held a protest Friday at the Port of Oakland for better pay, and for financial help in complying with new emissions standards they say could drive them away from home.

Truckers Walk Off Jobs At Port Of Oakland Over Pay, Working Conditions

Hundreds of truckers at the Port of Oakland walked off the job Monday over issues with what they have called unfair conditions.

Independent Truckers Protest At Port Of Oakland; Some Terminals Closed

A protest by as many as 120 truckers forced some terminals at the Port of Oakland to close temporarily Monday but Oakland police were working to try to keep all the terminals operational, a port spokeswoman said.
