Series Of Collisions On I-880 In Hayward Leaves 1 Dead, Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

One person arrested on suspicion of DUI in one of three collisions, one of which was fatal, on Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward early Thursday morning has been identified as an Oakland man, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Interstate 880 in Fremont was closed for almost two hours Thursday as authorities searched for a man that they said had a gun. Before he was spotted near the freeway, patrons at a nearby Starbucks said he showed up with blood on his hands and ordered a drink.
