The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority today finalized its approval of an agreement to extend the Oakland A’s lease at the O.co Coliseum for the next decade.
Commenting for the first time in public on the proposed lease extension plan, Quan said the city council should approve the deal so they can work on getting the team a new stadium.
The A’s have been in turbulent talks for weeks with Oakland and Alameda County officials over a new 10-year-lease at the aging O.Co Coliseum, but that may be moot if Raiders representatives can push through a plan to tear down the stadium and get a new NFL venue built in half that time.
