2012-13 49ers Learned The Hard Way, But No Longer Inexperienced
Although they lost the Super Bowl to the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco learned a great deal from the game. They will use this as a learning experience and come back next year a better team because of it. The team did not reach their final goal, but continue to get closer, and will try next year to end the Lombardi Trophy drought.

After trailing in every game this post season, the 49ers magic finally ran out. It looked like they might be able to pull it off again, but ran into an opponent that was able to make one more big play than them. Super Bowl 47 was a thriller and came down to the wire, which is all fans can ask for. San Francisco will have to deal with the misery of losing so close to their goal, but this can only make the team stronger as they continue to grow and develop.

If the 49ers are to beat the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII, it will take a team effort. The Ravens play for the guy next to them, and will be a problem not only for the talent they have on the field, but also for the bond that holds them together. With a two week break between the Divisional Championship Round and the Super Bowl, both the 49ers and Ravens are able to heal up. Both teams have defensive stars recovering from an injury, and with an extra week to rest will only benefit, but San Francisco would have been better off playing this Sunday.

As a franchise, San Francisco is undefeated on football’s biggest stage, and although this is new ground for this specific team, they have to like their chances of keeping the winning streak alive.

In a game where the momentum switched hands several times, the 49ers were able to make one more play than the Falcons and will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. San Francisco bounced back from a slow start, and in the end, outplayed the home team. The 49ers have earned themselves a trip to New Orleans, where they will look to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
Monkey Not Off Falcons’ Back Yet
When the Atlanta Falcons beat the Seattle Seahawks, they earned the first playoff win for both Matt Ryan and Tony Gonzalez. The entire franchise was able to breathe a sigh of relief, but will need to re-focus with San Francisco up next. With the winner heading to the Super Bowl, Atlanta must be careful to not suffer an emotional let down, and will face even more pressure as the stakes have been raised.
