Suspect Charged With Murder In Fremont Motorcycle Crash That Killed Marine

An Emeryville man was charged with murder Thursday for a crash in Fremont early Tuesday morning that killed 23-year-old Andrew Silva of Union City, a U.S. Marine who had recently returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Military officials say two Marines from Northern California have been killed in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense said Capt. Matthew Manoukian and Staff Sgt. Sky Mote died Friday in the country’s Helmand province.
