The movable median barrier on the Golden Gate Bridge was completely placed down Saturday evening. The span remains closed to auto traffic Sunday as crews finished striping and repairing the roadway.
The Golden Gate Bridge will shut down for an entire weekend in just over three weeks. The “massive” closure, as described by bridge officials, is taking place to so the long-awaited, $30 million movable median barrier.
For the first time in its history, the Golden Gate Bridge will have to be shutdown for a weekend so work crews can install a new moveable-median barrier, a bridge spokeswoman said.
