Phil Matier: Naming Rights Considered To Fund Oakland Parks

Oakland’s Parks and Recreations Department, which lacks funds to improve or even maintain the city-owned properties, is now considering a policy that would allow corporations and wealthy donors to buy the right to name public parks, gardens and recreation centers if they can pay their care.

‘Infineon Raceway’ Partnership Ends At Sonoma County Track

The raceway at state Highways 37 and 121 in southwest Sonoma County is ending its 10-year sponsorship agreement with Infineon Technologies and is pursuing a new partner to take over naming rights.

USS Harvey Milk Resolution Approved By SF Supervisors

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday in favor of a resolution to name a Navy ship in honor of murdered San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, considered the nation’s first openly gay major public office holder.
