Balloon Causes San Francisco Power Outage That Affected 9,000 People In Fisherman’s Wharf, North Beach Neighborhoods
A helium balloon is to blame for thousands of residents and businesses losing power in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf and North Beach neighborhoods Monday afternoon, according to PG&E.
Apple restored service to its iTunes and app stores late Wednesday afternoon, but not before users’ tempers flared and developers freaked out over lost revenue.
Three separate power outages throughout the Bay Area Sunday has impacted a total of more than 7,000 customers, a PG&E spokesman said.

As of 8 p.m. Tuesday, around 170,000 customers had been impacted by power outages throughout the region, with an estimated 31,000 customers still without service
Around 24,000 customers have lost power in the Bay Area Tuesday due to high winds, PG&E officials said.
An email outage Saturday left the entire Oakland Police Department, including command staff, without access to email for much of the day, city officials said Monday.
It may not be as windy as last week, but there’s plenty more rain in Monday’s forecast and more people on the roads are causing several traffic backups for commuters.
