A man who died just a few units shy graduating from San Francisco State University will be awarded his degree posthumously at a ceremony at the school Thursday afternoon, according to his family and university officials.

A man arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing another man in a South of Market apartment building early Saturday morning was released from jail without charges Tuesday evening, according to a spokesman for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

Longest-Tenured Raider Tommy Kelly Released

The move is the latest to distance the organization from the era of late owner Al Davis. Kelly originally signed with Oakland as an undrafted free agent in 2004 and quickly became a mainstay on the defense, signing a $50.1 million, seven-year contract to remain with Oakland in 2008.
