Lower temperatures and an increase in humidity were a welcome relief to firefighters battling a wildfire that has destroyed one home and forced evacuations from dozens of others in Placer County.
Fire officials said about 170 homes outside the Placer County community of Colfax remained under evacuation orders as a wildfire burned for the fourth day.
Gov. Jerry Brown has called in more firefighters and the California National Guard to help battle a Placer County wildfire that has forced the evacuation of 300 people.
High temperatures and dry conditions have contributed to the growth of the Robbers Fire in the Sierra Foothills east of Sacramento on Thursday.
