San Francisco 49ers
Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara is 445 days away. The big sporting event means big opportunities for local businesses, and entrepreneurs are already lining up for a slice of the action.
The 0-10 Oakland Raiders have six games remaining, and if they want to avoid the wrong kind of historic effort, the Silver & Black need to win at least one of those games. But it’s not looking like that is going to happen, all things considered. Somewhere, the ghost of Al Davis is cringing and shaking his fist at the mess his once-proud team has become.
If not for the play of their rookies, who knows where the 49ers would be this season. Chances are they would be farther back in the playoff hunt, if still even in striking distance.

The 49ers went on the road for the second straight week, and earned their second straight win. It took a last stand by the defense, but it was important for San Francisco to win this game, and they did due to the play of their defense and running game.
Rookie linebacker Chris Borland intercepted a 4th-down pass by Eli Manning at the 49ers 2, capping a goal-line stand in San Francisco’s 16-10 victory Sunday.
The 49ers and Giants have to game plan for some missing players this week, but none that they can’t overcome. There will be several game time decisions, but no big name is really in danger of sitting this one out, other than Patrick Willis.
