A head-on crash on Highway 17 in unincorporated Santa Cruz County north of Scotts Valley Friday morning has left one person dead, according to the California Highway Patrol.

An 18-year-old Scotts Valley man died on Thursday after the car he was in went off an embankment and plunged into an agricultural pond in Davenport, according to the California Highway Patrol.
