Berkeley Earthquake Expert Links Fracking To Quakes On The ‘Tectonic Timebomb’

Feds Say Towns Must Be Warned Before Trains Loaded With Crude Oil Pass Through

The Transportation Department issued an emergency order Wednesday requiring that railroads inform state emergency management officials about the movement of large shipments of crude oil through their states and urged shippers not to use older model tanks cars that are easily ruptured in accidents, even at slow speeds.

Feds Auction Prime Central Valley Land For Oil Development

The Bureau of Land Management is auctioning off nearly 18,000 acres of oil leases on prime public lands in Central California, home to one of the largest deposits of shale oil in the country.
