Space Shuttle Endeavour
The space shuttle Endeavour is finally on the home stretch of its journey through Los Angeles streets to its retirement at a museum.
Hundreds of people gathered at San Francisco’s Crissy Field and in the Marin Headlands Friday morning to watch the Space Shuttle Endeavour make a low-altitude pass near the Golden Gate Bridge.
Space shuttle Endeavour was set Friday morning to make low, sweeping passes over the East Bay, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Sacramento and Los Angeles following a return to its California roots Thursday.
The Endeavour had been scheduled to leave Florida on Monday for its final flight before ending up in a Southern California museum. It will now leave on Wednesday making its way across the US arriving in California on Friday.
