‘The Bay Lights’ Officially Unveiled On Bay Bridge

“The Bay Lights,” an $8 million privately funded project created by artist Leo Villareal, will wow visitors near the bridge for at least the next two years. Mayor Ed Lee said an estimated 50 million people in San Francisco and the North and East Bay will eventually see the lights.

Installation Of Bay Bridge Light Display To Begin Next Month

By next March, the installation will create the appearance of dancing lights on the bridge’s Eastern Span, and organizers say it will likely bring nearly $100 million a year in tourist dollars to the region.
