Activists were set to rally in Oakland Monday to mark the beginning of the Florida trial of George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer charged with second-degree murder for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last year.
A few dozen people gathered outside the San Francisco Hall of Justice Monday afternoon to protest the fatal shooting of a teenage boy by a neighborhood watch captain in Florida last month.
Events were held across the country as parishioners showed up at their respective churches in hoodies on Sunday.
