Redwood Shores 11-Year-Old Becomes Youngest Player To Qualify For U.S. Women’s Open

Eleven-year-old Lucy Li from Redwood Shores, has become the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open by winning the sectional qualifier at Half Moon Bay in California.

Cal’s Childs, Suh Conclude U.S. Women’s Open Runs

The U.S. Women’s Open suspended play Friday night due to fog covering the Sebonack Golf Club, but not after Cal alum Emily Childs and rising sophomore Hannah Suh concluded their runs in their first appearances at an LPGA Tour major.

The U.S. Golf Association announced that the Bay Area’s CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin has been awarded the 2016 championship. The tournament will take place from July 7-10 that year.
