In Washington, President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and wife Jill Biden walked out to the White House’s South Lawn for a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. — the time the first plane struck the south tower in New York. Another jetliner struck the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m.
Communities throughout the Bay Area are marking 12 years since the 9/11 terror attacks took nearly 3,000 lives when hijacked planes crashed into New York’s Twin Towers, the Pentagon and a rural field in Pennsylvania.
Wednesday marks 12 years since the September 11 terrorist attacks. In Napa, a memorial constructed from remnants of the World Trade Center is set to be unveiled.
The thought of going an entire day without political campaigning out respect of those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001 was a nice and extremely appropriate thought.
