World’s Ugliest Dog
Homely hounds gathered Friday at the Sonoma Marin fair in Petaluma for a chance to be named World’s Ugliest Dog.
“Peanut,” a shelter rescue dog of unknown heritage, was named the new World’s Ugliest Dog at the Sonoma-Marin Fair Friday evening.
A huge-headed, duck-footed mix of beagle, boxer and basset hound was the upset winner at the 25th annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest.
Besides worldwide acclaim, the prizes for the winning dog and its owner are $1,500, a trophy, a photo session with photographer Kira Stackhouse, and VIP treatment at the Sheraton Sonoma County-Petaluma hotel that includes a catered dinner for the dog and the owner in the luxurious Loft Suite.
