Former Giants and A’s pitcher Barry Zito wants to pitch again in the Major Leagues.
CBS baseball insider John Heyman reports that there is no evidence that Zito, 36, actually sought a job this off-season. There is no word of any injury for the lefty, who just finished a 5-11season with a 5.74 ERA for the San Francisco Giants, the final year of a seven-season $126 Million deal.
Freddy Sanchez doubled in the tying run in the sixth inning, then put San Francisco up for good with a two-run single in the seventh and the Giants won their fourth in a row by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3 on Saturday night.
