San Francisco Pride is definitely a big party, but that doesn’t mean it’s exclusively for adults. Pride weekend is home to a number of family-friendly events around the city. Pack up the kids, and celebrate with the whole city.
The LGBT Family Garden

The LGBT Family Garden is thrilled to offer the Family Garden once again, in 2015. This is a safe, fun space for children, youth, and their LGBTQ parents/caregivers during the Pride celebration. Arts and crafts, games, face painting, screen printed t-shirts, and resources will be offered to LGBTQ families, and will be a blast for all, so be sure to stop by and check it out! The Family Garden is a smoke and alcohol-free space.
Pink Triangle Ceremony
North hill facing the Castro district
Date: Saturday, June 27 @ 7:00am
The annual commemoration of the gay victims who were persecuted and killed in concentration camps in Nazi Germany starting in 1933 through the end of WWII. The pink triangle symbol has since evolved into an important reminder for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community of the continuing homophobia and inhumanity against them and other repressed minorities around the world. We transform the side of the Twin Peaks north hill facing the Castro district and downtown San Francisco, into a memorial by installing a giant pink triangle made up of dozens of pieces of pink canvas that can be seen from miles away during SF Pride weekend each year.
Queer Youth Space
Hosted by Larkin Street Youth Services and located right on Civic Center Square.
Date: Saturday & Sunday, June 27-28, 2015
The Queer Youth Space is a drug, alcohol , and smoke free place where all Queer Youth and their allies can come grab a snack, something to drink, play games, win prizes, and if someone wants to get a rapid confidential HIV test we will have that available again this year too, or you can just hang out in a safe space with other Queer Youth and their allies and enjoy the amazing S.F Pride celebrations. How cool is that?!
