Now is the time to decide what to get your sweetheart, especially if you were planning on arranging for chocolates and flowers to be delivered. Fortunately, there are many stores throughout San Francisco that are awaiting your arrival, call or email. Here is a small sampling of five of the best places to buy Valentine’s gifts for her in San Francisco, all of them pleasantly unique to the City by the Bay.

The Ferry Building Marketplace is a great spot for Valentine’s Day gift ideas, particularly the expertly handcrafted chocolates at Recchiuti Confections. A platinum collection of 88 pieces sets the high bar at $168, but there are many more affordable boxes, such as the popular S’mores kit for $25 and a six-ounce package of Burnt Caramel Almonds for $13.
