There is nothing more satisfying to chow down on than a hearty meal of prime rib.  Finding a local restaurant that serves prime rib can take some leg work. Luckily for those looking to indulge in a heaping plate of prime rib, the Bay Area has several choice spots. Here are five of the best places for prime rib, several of which have the meaty treat available every day of the week.

San Francisco's House of Prime Rib is the top spot in the Bay Area for a meal of prime rib. The restaurant is open seven days a week for dinner and beef is carved tableside. Options range from the heartier House Of Prime Rib cut to the thinner English Cut. Side dishes vary from salad and mashed potatoes to creamed spinach and Yorkshire pudding. Advance reservations are strongly recommended as the restaurant is frequently packed.

The Victorian Fat Lady Bar & Restaurant is rife with colorful history and was once home to a brothel. The Jack London Square building has been home to a much classier clientele since 1970, and now dishes out everything from juicy burgers to succulent rack of lamb. Swing by on a Friday or Saturday night to partake in of some of the Fat Lady's prime rib. The grass-fed beef dinner is a house specialty and includes a side of baked potato.

Open since 1992, Sam's Bar-B-Que dishes out BBQ by the laden plateful to local residents. The regular weekday menu includes favorites such as smoked Carolina pulled pork and beef brisket. On Friday and Saturday evenings after 5 p.m., head to Sam's for some delicious slow-smoked prime rib. The prime rib platter is one of the better deals around $23.95, and included in the price of each platter are two sides. Diners can choose from macaroni or potato salads, beans and cole slaw.

Located in the heart of downtown San Carlos, Town is an American steak and seafood restaurant. Open in its current rendition after succumbing to a fire in 2005, Town is open seven days a week and offers an extensive menu of everything from hand-cut filet mignon to spit-fire roasted chicken. Prime rib is served every day in two different portions: the 10 oz. petite cut and the 16 oz. Town cut. Plates come with au jus, horseradish sauce and choice of two sides.
