The San Francisco Bay Area is always a hub for music and musicians, so it is no surprise that some of the biggest tours and hottest names in music make their way to the Bay - and in some of the best outdoor venues there are to offer, nonetheless.  Check out some of the most popular rock and pop stars, along with a noted Broadway legend, and the largest music festival in the heart of San Francisco, all while soaking up the beautiful California sun.

This concert is not for the faint of heart—unless you're prepared for Beatle-mania-esque volumes of screaming teens. Although some may see them as just another boy-band, 5 Seconds of Summer set themselves apart with their pop-punk attitude and rock and roll style, and after one listen, the boy-band label is quickly stripped away. The concert is set at the iconic Shoreline Amphitheater where limited seating is available, or you can soak up the sun on the lawn area.

There are all sorts and genres of musical legends, and Idina Menzel definitely qualifies for that label. Yes, the singer became a household name due to the "Frozen" hit "Let It Go," and John Travolta's "Adele Dazeem," but Broadway fans have known Menzel for over 20 years. Originating the role of Maureen in "Rent," which she reprised in the movie, and giving a Tony Award winning performance in "Wicked," along with her own music to choose from, the catalog that she can pull from and possibilities for her set list are endless.

Taylor Swift. Does anything more need to be said? Quite possibly the most talked-about musician over the last couple years, with hits galore in both country and pop, Taylor Swift's 1989 Tour is one of the hottest tickets this summer.  Set in the 49er's new Levi's Stadium with state of the art sound system, and plush chairs, there is not a bad seat in the house.
